Sazerac

There are many variations of this classic drink, here’s my favorite, utilizing equal parts bourbon and cognac.
Ingredients:
~Absinthe
~1oz Bourbon (I use Bulleit)
~1oz Cognac (I use Courvoisier VS)
~1/4oz Simple Syrup
~Peychaud’s Bitters
~Angostura Bitters
Instructions:
Rinse pre-chilled rocks or cocktail glass with absinthe and either drink, if you are in the mood, or discard. Combine bourbon, cognac, simple syrup and 3 dashes of Peychaud’s bitters and 1 dash of Angostura bitters in a mixing glass with ice and stir. Strain mixture into the glass that was pre-rinsed with absinthe and enjoy.
